Registration for 2016 Fall Ball is now OPEN!!!
For Softball, our Fall Ball teams (excluding 8u) will again play within divisions of the Hudson Mohawk (HM) District 7 Girls Softball Association’s Fall Ball League. From a competitive standpoint, Fall Ball is in between our recreation games and summer travel league games. Some stricter rules are enforced, but the emphasis on competition does not reach that of summer travel games and more closely resembles our recreation games. Play consists of doubleheaders on four consecutive Sundays beginning on September 11, 2016, and ending on October 2, 2016 (8 games total). In addition, each team will practice one to two times per week on top of the games. We will be fielding teams at the 10u, 12u and 17u levels.
For Baseball, our Fall Ball teams will play on Sundays starting approximately September 11, 2016, and some weeks will be doubleheaders. Home games would be played at West Albany while road games will vary from regional locations such as Niskayuna, Guilderland, North Colonie, etc. We will be fielding a team at the 9u level and hopefully also at the 8u level.
We will also run our own in-house skills development programs for BOTH baseball and softball this fall. The programs will primarily focus on instruction and skills development through both individual and team based drills and scrimmages. Emphasis will be on throwing, fielding and hitting. Players who were registered and played this past Spring season in our Softball Mini Minors, Youth Rookies and Baseball Minors divisions are eligible to register and participate.
To register for any of our Fall programs, head over to our Registration page and click on the ‘Register’ button.
Teams are forming and practices will start soon, so don’t delay and register now!
Our Championship Day is scheduled for June 18, 2016. Opening Day is set for Saturday, April 16th, 2016. Kicking off the day will be the annual players parade down Sand Creek and into the park. We will gather at the Hebrew Academy at 54 Sand Creek Rd at 10:30 am and the parade will begin promptly at 11:00 am.
The parade will lead into the opening day festivities and introductions on the Cal Ripken field (check out the map on our website). Following the ceremony will be plenty of games, great food, activities and auctions to keep everyone busy.
For the kids we will have a clown on hand for face painting along with bounce house. We also plan on having plenty of spirit wear apparel on hand to purchase and order. Make sure to check out our silent auctions too as we’re sure to have some terrific items to bid on.
We look forward to kicking off another successful season down at the SC Pocket Park. We’ll see you there!
