Sponsorship Opportunities!

We love our kids and we are super proud of our volunteers here at South Colonie Youth Baseball and Girls Softball, but we would not be able to do what we do for the kids without our awesome sponsors!! Our sponsors allow us to keep our prices at a level that all families can hopefully afford and keep the fields/ equipment ready for the kids! We really wouldn’t be the same league without them!

So please take a look at our sponsorship form and consider asking your places of work if they would be willing to sponsor at one of our various levels. Think of how great it would be to see a picture of your child, grandchild, niece/ nephew, friend, or neighbor next to a banner of your company (field sponsor and above) … or on the back of their jersey (team sponsor) ... or on scoreboards or other places over the park where everyone would see how your company supports the local community!

A sincere thank you to all of our past sponsors, we hope to see you again in 2018!

SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITIES FOR CCHS GRADUATING SENIORS

scholarship-clipart

South Colonie Youth Baseball and Girls Softball board voted unanimously to continue our Dollars for Scholars donation, but with the money earned from the AWESOME coach’s game last year, we bumped the donation UP to $1500 (previously $500)! This established two $750 scholarships that will benefit college-bound seniors at Colonie Central High School. Graduating seniors are encouraged to visit the South Colonie Dollars for Scholars website (https://southcolonie.dollarsforscholars.org) for further details.

To qualify, graduating seniors need to have played baseball or softball within our South Colonie (formerly West Albany) league, located at the West Albany Pocket Park, off Exchange Street in Colonie. The Dollars for Scholars Awards night is May 15, 2018.

Please share with anyone you think may be eligible!

2018 Travel Baseball & Softball Tryouts

Player age is determined by their age as of May 1, 2018 for Baseball and Dec. 31, 2017 for softball. Tryouts are open, FAIR and great competitive experience for players. Even if you would just like to see what the programs are about, come join us, let your players have some fun and ask lots of questions to our wonderful coaches! Opening Day!! 4/21/2018

Opening Day is set for Saturday, April 21, 2018. Kicking off the day will be the annual players parade down Sand Creek and into the park. We will gather at the Hebrew Academy at 54 Sand Creek Rd at 9:30 am and the parade will begin promptly at 10:00 am. (*Current Plan)

The parade will lead into the opening day festivities and introductions on the Cal Ripken field (check out the map on our website). Following the ceremony will be plenty of games, great food, activities and auctions to keep everyone busy.

We also plan on having plenty of spirit wear apparel on hand to purchase and order. Make sure to check out our silent auctions too as we’re sure to have some terrific items to bid on.

We look forward to kicking off another successful season down at the SC Pocket Park. We’ll see you there!

Continuous Can Drive opened at Colonie Beverage

Tired of bottles and cans collecting in your house?
Hate putting them one at a time through a machine?
Wish you had an easy way to help others?

We are excited to announce the arrival of a continuous bottle drive to benefit all the ball players at South Colonie!

In an effort to keep costs where ALL kids can play ball, our friends at Colonie Beverage have opened up an on-going account at their shop on 1823 Central Ave, where you can just pull up, drop off your returnable cans and bottles and drive away. Just tell them its for “South Colonie Youth Baseball” and they will take the cans, count them and credit our account. The league will then receive a check by mail… it’s THAT EASY to help!

Can DriveStore hours: Mon-Sat 9am-9pm, Sun 9am-6pm

Our Opening Day is scheduled for April 21, 2018!  The day’s activities will kick off with our annual parade and a few other fun surprises.  Save the date!
